Zuckerberg's Meta to end US fact-checking: Why and what next?
Scoop is FRANCE 24's international media show. This week, we look at Meta's decision to end its massive US-based fact-checking operation on its platforms Facebook, Instagram and Threads. Experts say some changes were needed, but there is concern the radical overhaul could lead to a rise in political disinformation. Many conservatives welcomed the move but saw it as too little, too late, while liberals accused CEO Mark Zuckerberg of making the decision to cozy up to US President-elect Donald Trump.
